PLEASE NOTE: Any variations regarding the specifications below must be arranged directly between a representative from the Presenting Venue and a designated representative of Zeitgeist/Paul Dresher Ensemble (Z/PDE) and final approval of all specs must be obtained from same.

The schedules and manpower needs herein outlined are subject to local conditions. We will never need less than the basic numbers. If your venue's circumstances require more time and/or personnel, these numbers will be adjusted, as necessary.

Sound Stage SCHEDULE & CREW REQUIREMENTS

Z/PDE will be travelling with a crew of four:

  • (1) Technical Director
  • (1) Stage Manager/Lighting Supervisor
  • (1) Sound Engineer
  • (1) Master Carpenter

PLEASE NOTE: The number of local crew below is in addition to Zeitgeist tour crew.

*PLEASE NOTE: It is the preference of the Company that the crew assist in all areas listed above, switching work departments as needed throughout the day, as instructed by the Technical Director. This will require the crew be generally versed in Stage Lighting and Stage Carpentry skills. The Sound position is a specialized position and we anticipate this person will work exclusively in the sound related area.

In Houses where representation is required in each department, the following areas will need additional crew:

Prior to the arrival of the Company:

  • All Z/PDE shipping and equipment must be received at the theatre
  • All lighting must be hung, circuited, colored and tested
  • The Piano must be tuned and a tuner available for at least one additional tuning PRIOR to the first technical rehearsal

Sound Stage AUDIO REQUIREMENTS

Z/PDE will generally provide a complete audio system for performance including main and monitor speakers, mixing console and snake. However, depending upon the size of the house and available in-house system, portions of the house system may be needed for coverage in larger venues with substantial balcony or in houses where there is substantial seating in a wide configuration in relationship to the stage.

PRESENTER MUST PROVIDE THE FOLLOWING (Box Office coordination may be needed)

MIX POSITION: 4'x6' table with AC in house at rear center of orchestra level in audience not under balcony or overhangs

ELECTRICAL: Two 15 Amp Edison 110V AC circuits--on separate AC legs, isolated ground--to install our Power Conditioner, which feeds PDE equipment; the service should be the same service as the house PA. Note: Other AC tie-ins possible with advance consultation only (incl.: 30 Amp/110V, 20Amp/220V)

INTERCOM: 5 stations of ClearCom or equivalent headset system.

GRAND PIANO, 7 foot or larger, with lid off, tuned no more than 3 hours before performance

CONCERT MARIMBA - 4 1/2 octaves (down to low F) on wheels

CONCERT VIBRAPHONE - on wheels
