DAVID KRAKAUER'S KLEZMER MADNESS!
Emerging from the dying embers of the first klezmer revival of the late 1980s when klezmorim were transcribing traditional melodies note for note from old 78 rpm records, clarinet spaceman David Krakauer once again consults the turntables, this time in the form of a creative collaborator, Jewish hip hop beat master Socalled. This is not your gramma's klezmer. Unless gramma likes remixed Hasidic chant, klezmer tributes to James Brown, and an in-your-face raving battle for reinvented Jewish identity.
